Coinbase Launches Tokenized Stocks for Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet on Base Network
Coinbase has launched tokenized stocks, branded B20 equities, on the Base network, according to CoinDesk. Four tokens covering Nvidia, Apple, Meta and Alphabet went live for eligible non-US users, according to The Defiant.
Each token represents shares held by regulated custodian Alpaca, according to Decrypt, and gives holders a direct claim on the underlying share, including its rights, rather than tracking the price as a derivative, according to a separate Decrypt report. The tokens can be traded around the clock and used in decentralized finance applications on Base, according to Cointelegraph and Decrypt. Pricing runs on Chainlink feeds that update 24/5 even though the tokens themselves trade 24/7, according to The Defiant.
The Defiant reported that about Four tokens covering Nvidia, Apple, Meta and Alphabet went live for non-US users, with about $4.5 million minted and $3 million of DEX liquidity on day one.

in DEX liquidity on the first day. CoinDesk framed the launch as part of a broader push by exchanges and platforms to bring equities onchain.
Separately, Cointelegraph reported that Arcus introduced tokenized perpetual positions on Robinhood Chain, issuing transferable ERC-20 tokens that let holders use tokenized stocks to back leveraged trades without selling their underlying holdings.
