Byte News refreshed its Byte 500 index, adding 68 assets and removing 68 others, according to Byte News.
The rankings, updated on 2026-09-21, sort assets by 24-hour trading volume in US dollars sourced from CoinGecko, according to Byte News. The list holds 500 assets drawn from 663 that qualified out of 750 candidates, after 87 were excluded under the index’s published rules, Byte News said.

New entrants include Harmony (ONE) at rank 49, astronaut (ASTRO) at rank 66, Chainbase (C) at rank 90, Terra (LUNA) at rank 98, Ontology Gas (ONG) at rank 141, and dozens more further down the list, Byte News reported. The 68 assets that left the index had all fallen below rank 550 by trading volume.
Byte News said tracked assets have their prices logged every few minutes and appear in movers tables and downloads, but only get a dedicated page when they produce a standalone story. Index membership is reviewed weekly, according to Byte News.
