BTCPay Server Tells Operators to Shut Down After Reports of Hot-Wallet Drains
BTCPay Server, a bitcoin payment processing tool, urged operators to shut down their servers after receiving reports that attackers were draining funds from hot wallets, according to Cointelegraph.
The project instructed operators to run a shutdown script, ./btcpay-down.sh, while it investigates the reports, according to The Defiant. The alert did not identify which software versions were affected or announce a fix, The Defiant reported.
Cointelegraph reported the thefts were occurring on servers running outdated software, though BTCPay Server has not specified which versions are vulnerable. CoinDesk reported that the tool told users to switch off their servers following reports of drained wallets.

Each figure is this site’s own reading, with what it was measured against. A blank is a reading nobody took, not a zero. The before-the-headline window prints the rate a RANDOM hour clears the same bar, because a hit rate without its null is not a finding.
