Ethereum Researcher Justin Drake Urges 'Bunker Mode' Crypto Migration Over AI Threat to Private Keys
Ethereum researcher Justin Drake has called for what he terms 'bunker mode' planning to guard against the risk of private-key recovery through advanced computing, according to The Block.
Drake recommended that crypto holders move assets to fresh addresses where the public key remains hidden behind a hash, rather than exposed on-chain, according to The Block and Cointelegraph.
Cointelegraph reported that Drake’s warning centers on artificial intelligence rather than quantum computers, which he said could threaten wallet security sooner than quantum-based attacks.
The proposal drew pushback from Ledger’s chief technology officer, who argued that a broad migration of funds to new addresses could lead to costly user errors, according to The Defiant.

Each figure is this site’s own reading, with what it was measured against. A blank is a reading nobody took, not a zero. The before-the-headline window prints the rate a RANDOM hour clears the same bar, because a hit rate without its null is not a finding.
