Cryptocurrency thefts totaled $768M in September, making it the worst month for hacks in 2026, according to Cointelegraph. The Bitget exchange breach accounted for $388M in losses, while the Liquid Network exploit resulted in $320M in theft. More than $270M from the Liquid breach was subsequently returned.
