Ethereum and Base Developers Abandon Effort to Align Account Abstraction Standards
Efforts to align Ethereum and Base on a shared account abstraction standard have fallen apart, according to Ethlabs researcher Derek Chiang, as reported by Cointelegraph.
The two networks had been working on competing draft proposals, EIP-8130 and EIP-8141, according to The Block, but talks to merge them into a single standard broke down after the two sides diverged on priorities, The Block reported.
The Defiant reported that the two proposals take different approaches to native smart accounts, which could shift the burden of ensuring cross-chain compatibility onto wallet providers and app developers rather than resolving it at the protocol level.
Cointelegraph reported that Ethereum and Base are now pursuing separate account abstraction designs following the failed collaboration.

What the market did
Each figure is this site’s own reading, with what it was measured against. A blank is a reading nobody took, not a zero. The before-the-headline window prints the rate a RANDOM hour clears the same bar, because a hit rate without its null is not a finding.
