SEC Cancels Crypto Rulemaking Meeting as CFTC Plans Aug. 20 Session on Digital Assets
The SEC canceled a meeting on its proposed crypto offering rules, known as Reg Crypto, without setting a replacement date, according to CoinDesk and Cointelegraph. The cancellation came after the Senate left for recess without voting on the CLARITY Act, Cointelegraph reported. Decrypt said the SEC cited an “unforeseen scheduling issue” for the postponement and that no new meeting date has been announced.
Separately, the CFTC will hold a meeting of its Innovation Advisory Committee on Aug. 20 to address regulation touching on crypto assets, artificial intelligence and prediction markets, according to Cointelegraph. The CFTC session is proceeding even as the CLARITY Act, which would help define regulatory jurisdiction over digital assets, remains stalled in the Senate.
The back-to-back developments leave the SEC’s crypto rulemaking process paused while the CFTC moves ahead with its own advisory discussion on related issues, without a clear timeline for when the CLARITY Act might return for a Senate vote.

Each figure is this site’s own reading, with what it was measured against. A blank is a reading nobody took, not a zero. The before-the-headline window prints the rate a RANDOM hour clears the same bar, because a hit rate without its null is not a finding.
